Robin Stawasz, LMSW
Robin Stawasz has devoted her career to hospice and to helping families access that help when they need it. Robin now has more than 35 years’ experience in hospice compliance and quality. Among other services, she performs mock surveys for Confidis client hospices and hospice inpatient units, drawing on her experience as a site surveyor for CHAP.
After receiving her degrees from Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania, Robin worked for 29 years with CareFirst NY, Inc., a non-profit hospice in central New York which consistently led the way in the areas of advocacy and innovation. Holding various roles at CareFirst, including Director of Innovation and Advocacy as well as Administrator, Robin was the driving force behind many diversification and outreach efforts, including inpatient palliative care, community based palliative care, care transition services, disease specific hospice programming, and DSRIP development. She also created advocacy opportunities on the local, state, and national level, including presenting to the US House Ways and Means Committee on red-tape reduction within post-acute care.
Robin later worked with Acclivity Health, a data analytics provider in the post-acute care space. Her work there focused on creating payer-provider partnerships, leveraging data, accessing innovative payment models, and redesigning home-based clinical care.
In addition to her work for Confidis, Robin is one of the few Social Workers serving as a National Site Surveyor for CHAP, Inc., with a portfolio focusing on hospice, inpatient hospice units, palliative care, and home health licensing. She has served on NHPCO’s Palliative Care Advisory Committee and received the NHPCO Advocacy Innovator Award and the HPCANYS Carol Selinsky Founders Award.
